Why Fontys?

During the research I did to find Universities that offer Physiotherapy as program I got a recommendation for Fontys from a friend of a friend of me. He was very excited and told me about the international stream that they have at Fontys. Because I was really interested to study with students from all over the word, I chose to enroll in the English stream for Physiotherapy and was very happy when I got accepted.

The physiotherapy stream is known for the practical type of learning. That means that you will sometimes have workgroups in the gym, visit the Sport Hogeschool or get guest lectures form specialists, which makes they study very diverse.

Can you tell something about your campus / city?

The campus is easily reachable by bike or car. It is located close to a nice lake where you can go for a walk. When you sit in the library you can look outside on a big athletic tract, golf and soccer field. Furthermore, I really appreciate that the sport center is located just across the road. So, whenever you want to have a workout between classes, you just need to walk 5 minutes to be able to do some sports.

The city is very international. You basically don’t have to speak Dutch at all to get around. There are a lot of cozy cafes around and a market once a week.

Do you have some tips for new students?

If you want to become a student at Fontys, I recommend coming to an open day. There you will see the campus and already get to know some students and teachers. If that should not be possible then just text one of us ambassadors in case, you have any questions.

As a tip I recommend looking at the website Student Guide Fontys Helps, fontys.edu/fontyshelps.
On this website you will get a lot of useful information like how to register at the town hall, info’s about accommodation and so on.
