Accommodation for Exchange Students

Before starting your study at Fontys, you must find suitable housing. Unfortunately, it is not easy for international students to find accommodation in the Netherlands due to the housing crisis. Fontys Venlo University of Applied Sciences offers a service to provide students with assistance during their search for a suitable accommodation (i.e. a student room) Start your accommodation search early. Please be aware that finding a place to live is your own responsibility.

In general

Although Fontys does not have its own campus dorms, we cooperate with several accommodations agencies and landlords (further on this website referred to as housing agencies). Through such cooperation, Fontys can provide students with guidance in finding accommodation for a semester or academic year at Fontys. Fontys can offer housing for a limited number of students. Please note that applying for accommodation through Fontys does not automatically guarantee housing.

How to apply for accommodation

An accommodation form has been / will be sent to you via e-mail.

Please note: if you filled in a Fontys accommodation form you are obliged to accept the room offered by Fontys.
You need to fill in the application form before the 15th of June (Fall semester) or the 8th of December (Spring semester).

Our dorms

All dorms include the following:

You will share the kitchen, bathroom and toilet with a maximum of three other students. Each student has his/her own bedroom.
The kitchen is equipped with a diner table, refrigerator, stove, pots, pans, plates, cups and cutleri.
Washing machines and dryers are available in the building, free of charge.

Student Accommodation in Venlo

Venlo offers a number of apartments which can be rented by students. Please note that additional costs may be charged by commercial accommodation agencies. In those cases, Fontys does not act as a broker. Please also be informed that student houses are scarce in Venlo, so make sure to start looking for housing in time.
