Papers with a 500-code are first year papers, the 600-code means the paper is a second year paper and a 700-code equals a third year paper. After you are selected for Ara you can request a timetable from the international coordinator in New Zealand for the bachelor you are choosing courses from so you can choose specific courses and you can see in which semester they are being taught.
