Placemaking and waterfronts
of Expert Meetings and Master Classes has been scheduled between 2011 and 2013. Two Master Classes, both related to Placemaking, took place place in Fukuoka, April 12-21, 2012, supervised by Saline Verhoeven (Bureau B+B urbanism and landscape architecture, Amsterdam) and Andrew David Fassam (URA, Urban Redevelopment Authority, Singapore). A team of 7 international participants collaborated with 6 members from Japanse FDC members to develop a waterfront strategy for Hakata Bay Pier and Suzaki Wharf plus design guidelines for reinforcing the Naka riverfonts as part of an improved public space program for the city center.
