I want to apply but do not have a Master degree in architecture or urban design. Can I still apply?

If you can prove professional experience equivalent to a Master degree, you are eligible for participation. We cannot accept applicants without a Bachelor degree, or equivalent. In all cases, your motivation and portfolio are decisive. We do accept professionals with degrees in adjacent disciplines, such as landscape architecture, urban economics, social sciences.

Does Stadslab support me in visa applications?

All accepted candidates will receive a formal letter of acceptance and other documents in case a specific embassy requires those. But it is your own responsibility to find about about visa regulations and to apply for visa in due time. Mind that it sometimes takes up to two weeks or more and that costs are involved. Also, don't forget to update your insurances.

What is the cancellation policy?

The cancellation policy is printed on the Application Form, and by signing the form you accept the conditions. Cancellation fee between four to two weeks in advance of the start of the program is 50%; less than two weeks in advance 100%. No show penalty is also 100% of the tuition fee.

I would like to apply, but cannot afford the tuition fees. Are there any scholarships available?

We will try to arrange a scholarship fund to support talented designers without the necessary means to participate in our international programs. To inform about current possibilities please contact us.

Do participants acquire a degree after finishing a Master Class program?

Stadslab is a postgraduate program of the Academy of Architecture and Urbanism, Fontys University of Applied Sciences, Tilburg (Netherlands). The postgraduate program is not an academically accredited degree program. Participants already have their academic degrees and participate in a professional training program (Lifelong Learning). After finishing a Master Class you will receive a formal certificate.

Which competences are prioritized in Stadslab programs?

Stadslab operates as a think tank and international design laboratory. Therefore, spatial design is always at the core of each activity. However, we value teamwork and an integrated approach to offer value for the hosting city higher than stimulating individual genius. Results are always presented as a group effort, while still giving credit to al individual participants.
