Enjoy this Exchange programme of Rockacademie at Fontys
The occupational field for professional musicians does not solely consist of creativity and artistic achievements. Matters such as business decisions, technical possibilities and publicity also play important roles. The music branch is a dynamic branch; it is constantly moving and is linked to the latest techniques. Furthermore, many forms of communication make use of music. That is why music is an important expression of identity and individuality. The world of work is unpredictable and changeable, but also dynamic and adventurous. As a future professional, you will have to create your own opportunities within these dynamics in order to find your own way.
Rockacademie trains musicians to be professionals who will contribute to the world of music in a creative manner.
We accept students from similar institutions worldwide.
Target Audience & Entry Level
Rockacademie provides a programme that has been designed for musicians who have professional ambitions in the areas of performance, management, writing, music production and/or education.
Any individuals who have qualified at the level of HBO (Higher Professional Education), or equivalent levels of education may apply for auditions.
Rockacademie offers a bachelor of music for the traditional pop music instruments - drums, bass, electric guitar, vocals and songwriting - as well as a program for Electronic Music Production (EMP). Besides instrumental skills there is a variety of relevant subjects like music business, sound engineering and music education to prepare students for a broad career in the (inter)national field of popmusic.
During recent years, our graduates have been successful in positions such as A&R managers, artists, music teachers, sound engineers, songwriters, DJ’s, music producers, composers, et cetera.
Students who have been awarded the title, Bachelor of Music, will be eligible to follow the Master of Music Programme.
How will your course program be recognized by your home university?
Fontys Art Communication & Design will provide you with a so-called ‘Transcript of Records’, which will clarify the results that you have achieved. Depending on your results, you will receive a maximum of 30 ECTS credits. ECTS credits are recognized throughout Europe. The agreement between your home university and Fontys University of Applied Sciences will usually include a condition whereby the credits that you obtain will be recognized and transferred into the records kept by your home university.
