About the exchange programme

The International Business Consultancy programme facilitates in training students from all over the world in becoming business consultants. This leads to a global mix of participants collaborating over a variety of assignments and courses. The programme is, due to its wide range of law, business and economics courses, suitable for students from different disciplines who want to have a career in business. The mixture of students and highly involved lecturers, result into a small-scale community with mutual interest in business consulting. The combined focus on content and future-proof business skills, lets you really experience business and learn how to create chances for your future career.

‘Learning to take action’: It doesn't only includes business knowledge, but also social commitment, the courage to voice critical opinions and respect for other cultures. You will be expected to use the analytical competencies that you will acquire to solve ‘real case’ problems effectively. You will do this in internationally oriented groups, as to benefit from intercultural collaborations and different views on solving actual business challenges.

 
 

 

Programme

The IBC programme starts in Fall (September) and Spring (February) semester. Every semester you can choose from the courses below. You can attend this programme in the Fall or Spring semester. Our aim is to assist you in developing your professional and social competencies for a successful professional career. The intensive programme focuses on processes and people in all kind of organisations. As such, we will provide you with an international learning environment and with intensive contacts with professionals. Furthermore, we will aim to orientate you towards the profile specifications of an international consultant. This package of skills and knowledge acquired by students enables them to be a proper business consultant.


 

Admission requirements

Exchange students are expected to have a good command of English. It is not compulsory to provide us with a Proof of English proficiency.

 

 

How to apply as an exchange student

Applications should always be submitted via the International Exchange (or Erasmus) Officer at the home university. If several versions of the programme are offered, please indicate for which version you would like to apply to (Programme I, Programme II, Programme III, etc.) This officer will send your application request (nomination) to Fontys. Once Fontys has accepted the application, your Fontys study department will send you a link to a web application called Mobility Online.

How will your course programme be recognised by your home university?

Fontys will provide you with a so-called ‘Transcript of Records’, which will clarify the results that you have achieved. Depending on your results, you will receive a maximum of 30 ECTS credits. ECTS credits are recognised throughout Europe. The agreement between your home university and Fontys University of Applied Sciences will usually include a condition whereby the credits that you obtain will be recognised and transferred into the records kept by your home university.
