Information about Fontys OSO

Fontys OSO is one of the 29 departments of Fontys University. It offers Master degree programmes and what we call ‘practitioner programmes’. Fontys OSO is a key player in constructing knowledge in the broad field of special educational needs. It aspires to retain and reinforce its leading position in the field of training and service provision in the Netherlands. Fontys OSO sees it as a social duty to share this knowledge with others working in the field and with other education, training and research institutes. Fontys OSO does this by basing its work on four perspectives: training, support, development and research. Working from these perspectives enables Fontys OSO to shape its role as a knowledge centre on questions about specific educational support and to offer tailor-made solutions to questions from individual teachers, school teams, managements, partnerships and local authorities. Where desirable and possible, Fontys OSO collaborates in this field with Fontys Hogeschool Kind en Educatie which trains primary school teachers.
