Personal support

  • Studying with a disability

A disability, whatever it may be, whether it be of a physical or a psychological nature, can mean that studying takes a lot of energy and that you need more time than someone without a disability. Here at Fontys we look at what is possible and that is why we support students with a disability.

    What is a disability?

    Examples of a disability are:

    • Dyslexia
    • Autism
    • ADHD/ADD
    • Psychological complaints
    • Chronic illness

If you have a disability you can make use of special facilities and arrangements.

    Examples of facilities and arrangements

    • Extra study guidance
    • Extra time during exams
    • Large fonts
    • Online for summarizing, reading and writing
    • Adjusted study timetable
    • Adjusted testing format

You can submit a request for a facility to the examination board. You will often have to make an appointment with the student counsellor first (via +31 (0) 8850-82222). Take proof of your disability with you to the appointment.
