Get to know your course and make friends for life
You get to know your fellow students and meet friends for life. You will be introduced to your study programme and study city. You will eat together, discover the city together, get to know each other and the study programme, make memories together and much more... What that will look like, what you need, where you need to be, who you can contact, you can find all that here! We will make it a fantastic week, of course within the Corona rules.

Hi future Physiotherapy student, nice that you have applied for the Physiotherapy programme!
A good start is of course accompanied by a great introduction week. During this week you will get to know your new fellow students, teachers, senior students, the program and your new student city Eindhoven.
This introduction week takes place from August 22nd until August 26th 2022. This is the week before the first classes start. Together with Purple and our sponsors, we have a great week in store for you. The introduction week is separate from your registration for the program. You have to register separately for the introduction week.

Programme
Below you can see all the activities in which you will participate:
Your first introduction to your bachelor programme is on Monday. We have organized the following for you and your new fellow students:
- From 12.00 h: Arrival at Dynamo and further introduction.
- 14.00 - 16.00 h: Scavenger hunt through the city center
- 17.30 - 19.30 h: Dinner
- From 19.30 h: Music bingo at Dynamo
The FPH-day. Together with the other studies of Fontys School for Allied Health Professions we organize a great day at 'the IJzeren man'! You can also meet the study association CORPUS here! The program on Tuesday is as follows:
- 09.00 - 10.00 h: Breakfast
- 11.00 - 13.00 h: Living Cluedo at school
- 14:00 - 20:00 h: FPH-day at IJzeren Man including BBQ
- 21.30 - 01.00 h: Theme party
On Wednesday you will get to know the city of Eindhoven:
- 12.00 - 17.00 h: Cityday
- 17.00 - 23.00 h: Purple party
- 23.00 - 01.00 h: Purple pub tour
Today you will get to know the Fontys community during the amazing Purple festival.
- 13.00 - 22.00 h Purple festival
Your introduction week is done! Time to pack your things and head home. We hope you enjoyed it and made many new friends. Good luck during your studies and see you at Fontys!

The Introduction Day
On August 26th, from 4PM to 8PM, Fontys organizes the Introduction Day. This event is all about getting to know fellow international students. From 4 PM to 8 PM the campussites will be filled with conversations, info and 'gezelligheid' as the Dutch would say. We would like to invite you to the Fontys Introduction Day!
Be aware that this is a Fontys event and not a study or institute-specific event!
Costs to participate
Participating in the International day will cost you only 5 euros. In return for that, you will get food from the BBQ and 3 drinks!

Photos and videos
During this introduction week, many photos and videos will be made. They will include selfies and videos made by students on mobile phones as well as photos and videos made by professional photographers. By participating in this introduction week you automatically agree that these photos and/or videos are being published (i.a. social media, flyers, ads and websites).

Participation in the introduction costs a total of € 95,- including overnight stay or € 60,- excluding overnight stay. Register and pay below, do this before 14 August 2022.
You take your own airbed and sleeping stuff with you and sleep with a group of fellow students in a room.
Packing list
To make sure you are fully prepared for Purple, tick off the packing list below and nothing will stand in your way of having a great introduction week!
For the Purple programme, make sure you have at least the following ready when the intro starts:
- Airbed
- Fitted sheet
- Sleeping bag
- Pillow
- Identity card
- Bicycle
- Charger
- Wall socket
- Music box
- Nightwear
- Toiletries
- Towel(s)
- Enough dry and warm clothes for 5 days (depending on the weather)
- Sportswear
- Slippers for the shower
- Swimwear
- Medicines (if applicable)
- Bottle (to fill with water to take with you)
- Games for leisure
And of course don't forget your good sense and bulk energy!
Additional information
During this week, you are expected to bring a bicycle to go to the different activities. So please make sure you have a bicycle available to you this week.
Unfortunately, there are not enough sleeping places for everyone who participates in the introduction week. There are students who do not (yet) have a room in the area. Therefore, we would like to ask you to consider whether it is necessary to stay overnight, so that the students who do not have a place to sleep around Eindhoven can join the introduction week. For the applications for sleeping, the first come, first served rule is valid.
Each year we choose a theme for the introduction week. This year's theme for Physiotherapy is ‘Calling all Superheroes!’ The activities will incorporate this theme. If you have a nice outfit in the theme it is nice to bring it.
FAQ
The Fontys introduction week is called Purple and will take place from 22 to 26 August 2022. The programme starts with getting acquainted with fellow students and teachers at our location on the Ds. Th. Fliednerstraat 2, 5631 BN Eindhoven. There you will form your own introductory group (including 'intro parents').
The Purple Introduction Week is all about getting to know each other. Getting to know classmates, getting to know the study programme, getting to know the city where the new students will be studying and, of course, getting to know the Fontys community!
Just like previous years, we are planning to make the Purple Introduction Week just as beautiful and fantastic as every year, of course within the measures that are in place at that time. All the 'new' measures will create a challenge, but Purple is motivated to make it a great week again!

Now that you are going to study you might have been looking forward to many new contacts, parties and other things that are part of a student's life.
