Personal support

In the first year of study, you will be assigned to a mentor. He or she is your first person to talk to frequently. He or she will follow your achievements and give you useful tips and advice if needed.

To be able to study successfully, Fontys has personal attention for you. You get guidance in your development and discovery of your talents. Ofcourse we help you as well with questions about i.e. time-management, extra guidance for studying, dyslexia and autism.

Student +

Student + is a service of Fontys ICT University for all ICT-students.
We offer a broad scale of trainings, workshops and individual and group coaching activities for all students who need this assistance.
Also, if you have trouble planning and/or organising your study, you can ask help at Student +.
We think it is important that all students get equal chances and help, should they need so.

  • Studying with a disability

A disability, whatever it may be, whether it be of a physical or a psychological nature, can mean that studying takes a lot of energy and that you need more time than someone without a disability. Here at Fontys we look at what is possible and that is why we support students with a disability.

    What is a disability?

    Examples of a disability are:

    • Dyslexia
    • Autism
    • ADHD/ADD
    • Psychological complaints
    • Chronic illness

If you have a disability you can make use of special facilities and arrangements.

    Examples of facilities and arrangements

    • Extra study guidance
    • Extra time during exams
    • Large fonts
    • Online for summarising, reading and writing
    • Adjusted study timetable
    • Adjusted testing format

You can submit a request for a facility to the examination board. You will often have to make an appointment with the student counsellor first.
