The study and life in Venlo and Plymouth were very nice and gave me a lot of beautiful memories. Further this study made me more open and internationalized.
This Master certainly met the expectations which I had before I started.
Ewals Cargo Care offered me the opportunity to do this Master and afterwards a job in their company. I now work at Ewals Cargo Care as a specialist international freight forwarding.
This year was a great opportunity
When I decided to undertake a Masters degree, I was looking for two things. Most importantly, I wanted to gain international experience through working with students of different nationalities and to live abroad. I also wanted the opportunity to expand my knowledge in Supply Chain Management and Logistics.
In completing this Master my requirements were definitely fulfilled.
I developed further knowledge in the field of SCM and Logistics and expanded my social network establishing numerous international contacts and friends. Studying in Venlo as well as in Plymouth was a valuable experience. It enabled me to experience living and working alongside differing nationalities within a different country
My goal for the future was to work in logistics or supply chain for a multinational. Soon after I graduated I was offered a position within a large multinational, working on various projects within the logistics field for their customers.
The decision taken to do Masters was easy, because according to my experience during work, I have realized that only postgraduates are qualified for manager positions. It is important for future career since a Bachelor is no longer making you different from others.
It was a great experience to join this Master program. This program especially in Fontys University exceeded the expectations I was targeting to meet.
The way of thinking about logistics and supply chain has changed 180 degrees.
I can confidently say that I started to think about new challenges in my career and I am absolutely sure that all of these ideas had come from the intense work I used to have during this study.
Venlo is a nice small city where everyone knows each other and it is easy to make new connections, friends and start a new experience with other cultures. Plymouth as well was a nice experience for all of us, we really get closer to each other and the way of putting us in groups to do work was successful.
We really learned from each other’s experience.
I decided to do my Master in International Procurement and Supply Chain Management because I wanted to gain knowledge in the area of business which interests me the most.
In total I am very satisfied with my decision to choose the combination of both schools, Fontys and Plymouth University, because I was able to learn a lot, have fun and meet new people from all over the world.
With regard to the courses using the simulation software Simul8 has been one of the highlights. Every class was interesting and challenging. For me personally it was very interesting to have an exchange of opinions and ideas with the lecturers on Procurement related topics.
I started as a Trainee in Category Management for one of Germanys biggest Retailers.
Studying and living in Venlo und Plymouth was a great experience I definitely do not want to miss! I chose the MSc International Procurement & SCM, which was offered the first time and which provided me with a specialisation in sourcing, rather than logistics. The courses were interesting and I gained very valuable knowledge I can use in my later job.
Living in the two cities was also great. Venlo is close to major cities in Germany and Holland where travelling is made easy and you can experience new cultures. Plymouth is a city with hundreds of possibilities to spend your free time – beach, shopping, sports, party, or whatever else you were interested in. It definitely never got boring.
I met so many awesome people from all over the world
Especially this made the study to an unforgettable experience for me.”
The reason that I chose this program was is the good reputation in the industry on one hand and on there other hand the international experience that this program has to offer. We were a group of international students from 6 different nations and the diversity of this program made it very enjoyable. I am still in contact with many of my fellow students and i think that some of the friendships might last a lifetime. The international touch of studying with students from all over the world and also spending the second term in England prepared me for the international working field that all of us will be working in.
Courses at Fontys are more about experiencing theory instead of simply learning it by heard. A practical touch like working on a certain problem in groups and solving it with the broad application spectrum of excel, playing the Supply Chain Game „ The Beer game“ and visiting the Rotterdam harbor are just examples of how this masters program prepares you for the work field after the study.
If you are willing to study in English and work in an international environment which will prepare you for todays work life which is driven by globalization and exploring new markets in new countries, then this is the right program for you
Fontys and the University of Plymouth will prepare you for future responsibilities in your job as well as how to handle challenges that you will face in your future career.
I graduated in 2014 and found a great job at BMW Group (Production Plant in Germany) as a Sequenz Coordinator and Logistics Specialist.
