International orientation

The Dance Academy trains dancers and choreographers who connect to the contemporary professional dance scene, dancers and choreographers co-creating the art of dance. The major Dance Arts in Context (Contemporary and Contemporary Urban) trains dancers for contemporary dance performances, multi-disciplinary theatre and site specific theatre. The major Choreography focuses on the art of dance creation, the art of choreography and how to develop and design dance.

Students are educated by a permanent staff of teachers and by visiting lecturers and visiting choreographers from the contemporary national and international professional field. Besides the involvement of (visiting) chorographers, students are encouraged to create their own work and perform it. Every year, you get stage experience in performances produced by the Dance Academy, both in the Academy Theatre and in other theatres. The field of work of an dance artist is international. That is why, throughout your training, you will be encouraged to get international experience. There are many ways to do so: a scholarship, a project, a traineeship or attending a minor abroad.
