David Romanello received his Bachelor of Music in 2012 at the Conservatory in Tilburg. After which he completed his Master Of Music in 2014 with a 9 and an own CD, called "Youngster".
Meanwhile David has gained extensive experience in professional practice. For example, in 2008 he toured Europe with soul legend Percy Sledge with which, among others, countries such as Belgium, Germany, France, Austria and Monaco were visited. In addition, David participated in Siena Jazz in the Summer of 2010. Here he has had lessons from, among others, Jim Snidero, Bobby Watson, Michael Blake, Avishai Cohen and Omer Avital. All established names in the international Jazz scene.
David won the Middelburg Jazz Festival on 28 May 2012 and participated in the first edition of the Conservatorium Talent Award in 's-Hertogenbosch. Also in that year David was nominated by the Fontys School of the Arts for the Jack de Leeuw prize.
2013 was dominated by several international tours. Together with the Chelsea Foreman Quintet, David played in and around the Chinese Shanghai. He toured Slovenia with his own quartet. And with the Frank Windemuller Quartet he traveled to Portugal. With this last occupation he managed to place himself in the same year for the final of the Dutch Jazz Competition and he played in the Bimhuis.
In 2015, David traveled to China for a second time. This time with the band N.E.I-L for a tour of 5 weeks where they have given more than 20 concerts in the largest theater and concert halls of China.
At the moment, David is busy with BOSCO. This small-bigband currently has a partnership with Liptease. This band was in the final of Holland's Got Talent in 2014. BOSCO currently also has a partnership with the Rotterdam Ska Jazz Foundation and BOSCO is working on its own work.
In addition to his own quartet, trio, NEIL and BOSCO, David plays with, among others, Dr. Brass, SOUL !, horn section The Hornaments.
Since 2017, David Romanello is principal subject teacher of saxophone jazz at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Tilburg.
