How to apply
All applications for our programmes have to be conducted via www.studielink.nl. Studielink is an online portal that allows applicants to apply and maintain their registration whenever they want to.
The Master of Music application process may differ for EU and Non-EU students, please read below what applies for you.
Studielink support
Applying for studies in Studielink can be challenging. The Studielink website offers several step-by-step plans to guide you through the enrollment process.
Audition process

- To take part in the audition you first have to apply. See the link "How to apply for admission above what the 2 steps are for application.
- Candidates living in the Netherlands, Belgium and western Germany will be invited to participate in a live audition.
- Candidates living in other countries can upload a video audition after receiving an email with a link to the audition form. The deadlines for uploading a video audition are 30-01-2023, 20-03-2023 and 22-05-2023. You will be invited for an online interview on the audition day itself, so keep this date free.
- Both the live audition and the online audition will be assessed on the same dates. The auditions will take place in the following weeks: 6-10 February 2023, 27-31 March 2023 or 30 May- 2 June 2023 (the last one is not accessible for Non-EEA candidates because of the Visa procedure) The exact dates per main subject can be found here (download).
- After this audition weeks it is still possible to audition for EEA candidates; after applying we will contact you about the date.
- Read the Admission Requirements below for details about what to prepare for your live or online audition.
- All candidates have to submit a Personal Development Plan (PDP), outlining their professional goals for the years of study, and a CV. The deadlines for uploading the PDP and CV are 30-01-2023, 20-03-2023 and 22-05-2023. You will receive an email with a link to the audition form where you can upload your documents.
- Part of the audition proces is an interview about your motivation and PDP.
- The educational support office will send you the result of the audition.
- If you are admitted, the student administration will send you an email about your enrollment and will ask you to send your diploma / degree certificate.
Make sure you apply in time! If you are accepted early on you can start looking for a room, your place is guaranteed and you don't have to be on a waiting list, you will receive all the information on time, you can already participate in activities, you can already make contact with the teachers etc.

ADVICE
The longer you wait with your application and enrolment, the harder it will be to find a room in Tilburg. Tilburg has many students, so from July/August onwards it is very difficult to find a room.

Requirements
After your application to the Master of Music, you will be invited for an audition (live or online) and an interview. The audition forms the core of your admission to the program. In addition, all applicants must submit a personal development plan, sketching their professional plans for the upcoming years of study.
Only after admission to the Master of Music (so after the audition) you have to send documents like diplomas and if applicable (languages) certificates. So ignore the request of Studielink!
In this overview you can find the admission requirements per main subject. You have to prepare a video audition and submit a personal development plan. Besides that it's a possibility that you will be invited for an (online) interview.
Candidates for Music Theatre will do an online audition first. The deadline for this preselection is the 8th of May 2023. After this preselection only selected candidates will advance to the live audition, which will be held on the 22nd or 24th of May in Tilburg. Candidates must provide their own musical accompaniment. If you need help with this, we can recommend some names, please contact fhkmom@fontys.nl.
The audition for Voice Classical will take place in two rounds. A first round for singing and monologue, a second round for drama.
All candidates have to submit a personal development plan, outlining their professional goals for the years of study, and a cv. Simply use the templates below:

Prequisite for admission is a Bachelor of Music degree or equivalent.Language requirements
For international students, the following language requirement applies for admission to an English-language programme:
- an average IELTS score of 6.0, for which the student must have a score of 6.0 for at least three
components and may have a score below 6.0 for no more than one of the four components, provided
this score is at least a 5.5.A previously completed language test, with the exception of Cambridge, may be no more than two years old at the time the study commences, which can be either on 1 September or on 1 February. Exemption may be granted for this requirement if the international student can submit a diploma form prior education that was obtained in a country in which English is the official language of instruction. If the diploma was granted more than two years ago, the student will be asked to demonstrate their language skills again, unless English is the only language of instruction in the country where the student obtained the diploma.

For the English taught programmes, the minimum English language proficiency required. As an applicant with a Dutch MBO-4, HAVO- or VWO-diploma you can be exempted from submitting the language proficiency test.Prerequisite for admission is a Bachelor of Music degree or equivalent and the nationality (outside European Union).Non-EU students who do not yet meet the requirements of the Master’s program, but who can be expected to develop their skills within a reasonable amount of time to reach the appropriate level, may be accepted to the Pre-Master, a preparatory year. During the Pre-Master, students follow intensive lessons in preparation of the first year of the Master. The decision to accept a student to the preparatory year will be communicated to the student after the audition.Deadline documents
Once admitted, you will be requested to send a proof of the English language requirement (except in abovementioned cases), a certified copy and official translation in English of your original bachelor diploma and grades list.
Note for Non-EU students: make sure you prepare your documents before May 1.Deadline EU/EEA-students
