Would you like to study at Fontys after graduating from MBO? Are you interested in knowing more about the transition to higher professional education, the study load, and the kind of work you can do after graduating? Look for more information on: fontys.nl/mbo.

HBO-ICT internship: for a successful transition from MBO to HBO
Do you (almost) have an MBO-4 diploma and are you unsure whether you’re able to transition to HBO? Follow our HBO-ICT internship, which makes the step from MBO to HBO much easier. During a period of six months, you’ll follow classes with us one day a week, and you’ll learn about all the majors within HBO-ICT. You can get used to the level and attitude that’s needed to study on an HBO level. You’ll also get to know the content of the programme. The programme starts twice a year: in February and September.

We’ve made partnership agreements with a number of MBO schools. These include ROC ter Aa, ROC-Gildeopleidingen, ROC Leijgraaf, ROC Sint Lucas, ROC Summa, and ROC Tilburg. If you attend one of these schools, you can participate in the HBO-ICT internship. You may also be able to participate if you’re a student at another MBO school. We’ll arrange this in consultation with your school.

Want to know more?
Send an email with your name and your MBO programme to our MBO coordinator: mbofhict@fontys.nl

Not the right pre-education?  Language tests?
If you’re a Dutch national and you would like to follow the bachelor HBO-ICT course based or demand based in Eindhoven, but you don’t have the correct admission requirements and you’re over 21 years old, you must take an English language 21+ test. For this, you will only take the intellectual ability test (ACT). If you have passed this, you will have to take an English language test (IELTS, TOEFL or Cambridge certificate) on your own. This test is not offered by Fontys.

The dates on which the ACT is organised at Fontys can be found here.

To take a language test, please contact IELTS, TOEFL, or Cambridge. More information about the minimum score you need to achieve can be found here.

You are responsible for ensuring that you take the language test on time. You’ll also have to pay for the tests yourself. In the Netherlands, these tests are offered by various providers, for instance:

Please note: There may be a period of a few months between taking the ACT and completing the language test. It’s compulsory to apply for the language test in advance; sufficient preparation time is also required. Many tests are offered at different prices, so it’s advisable to enquire in good time and to compare them.

Foreign diploma

Do you have a diploma from abroad? Our condition is that it should meet Dutch standards. In addition, you must have sufficient knowledge of the Dutch or English language. Please contact us to have your diploma assessed and send your email to: StudyICT@fontys.nl
