The Fontys Student Entrepreneur Program
The Fontys Student Entrepreneur Program seeks to ensure that you as a student entrepreneur have the opportunity to fulfill your study obligations while still a student together with your business interests in the best possible manner. This program allows you as a (starting) entrepreneur to avail yourself of several different options within Fontys as well as to make use of valuable support structures to help you implement your strategies to pursue a successful career as an entrepreneur.
Which options are available to me?
- Accompaniment by an external coach
- Adjusted class attendance requirements
- Participation in Workshops & Master classes
- Adjusted examination schedule and/or adjusted First Year completion requirements
- Completion of an internship within your own company
- Graduation within your own company
The options described above have been formulated to enable you to fulfill the obligations of both a study program and the demands of your personal business interests in an optimal manner. But this is not all we offer! Participation in the Fontys Student Entrepreneur Program opens the door to a wide network of experts who can help you navigate your way toward a successful business career as well as provide you with relevant advice when needed. Consider for example the following experts in their fields: accountants, tax advisors, marketing experts, lawyers, and company growth advisors. In addition, you have the opportunity to take exclusive Master classes, to participate in workshops and to take part in networking groups.
Please note: Use of these options is available to you up to 2 years after your graduation!

Please note: due to the summer holidays, your registration for the Student Entrepreneurship Programm will be processed again from August.
After completing the application form, CvO will review your application and contact you as soon as possible to discuss the following steps. Should you be considered as a candidate for the Fontys Student Entrepeneur Agreement then additional information will be needed, such as the completion of:
- Business Model Canvas
- Value Proposition Design
If it concerns an existing business, then the following conditions are added:
Finances: balance, forecast, basic health of the organization will be reviewed & a time span.
(!) Please note, the entire admission process takes at least 3 months. Therefore, register on time if you want to do your internship or graduation within your own company.
The screening commission
When your documentation is complete, then you will be able to appear before an independent screening commission. The commission will make an assessment to determine, from your documentation and presentation, whether you are “fit” and “viable” enough to be considered a reasonable risk. After the meeting, the commission will submit a recommendation regarding your application for making use of the Fontys Student Entrepreneur Agreement. The official status of Fontys Student Entrepreneur will be awarded for 1 study year and will each study year reconsiderd.
