Visa information


Depending on your native country an Entry Visa (MVV) might be required  to enter the Netherlands. Additionally you will need a Residence Permit if the period of stay in the Netherlands is longer than 3 months. 

Fontys University of Applied Sciences has an agreement with the Dutch Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND) to apply for Entry Visa and Residence Permits on behalf of students. This procedure will be started before you travel to the Netherlands. Students are not allowed to apply for it themselves.

 

Entry Visa / MVV
Sticker in your passport issued by Dutch embassy or consulate in your home country.
All non-EU/EEA students entering the Netherlands, except nationals from Australia, Canada, Japan, Monaco, New Zealand, South Korea, the USA and Vatican City State, will need an Entry Visa (MVV).

 

Residence Permit / VVR
Card will be issued in the Netherlands.

Those who enter the Netherlands with or without an Entry Visa (MVV) and wish to stay longer than three months, are required to apply for a Residence Permit (VVR).The immigration Officer will send the application to the Dutch Immigration and Naturalisation Service on your behalf. The residence permit will be ready shortly after your arrival in the Netherlands.

Please note: Pakistan students will be asked to motivate their wish to study in the Netherlands during an interview at the Dutch Embassy in Islamabad.
