Accommodation
Fontys University does not have its own accommodation but arranges accommodation for students via housing corporations, housing agencies and private property owners, so that accommodation will be directly available to you upon your arrival in The Netherlands.
At Fontys the International Office organizes the accommodation for international students and acts as a mediator between the student and the landlord or housing agency.
All foreign students are entitled to reside in furnished accommodation of a similar standard and price as that utilised by local students. Typically, this would be in the form of a private room, with shared facilities.
Currently, there is a shortage of good student accommodation in The Netherlands. Therefore, unless you have friends or family living here, it is unlikely that you will be able to secure accommodation without assistance. Fontys has made pre arrangement with different landlords and housing agencies.
A submitted housing request leads to obligations for both student and Fontys.
You will be required to sign a rental contract with the housing corporation, housing agency or property owner for the full period.
Your accommodation is guaranteed at your arrival in accordance with the housing period, starting about 1-2 weeks before the academic year will start in order to arrange some practical matters upon your arrival and introducing hitting in the city and your new residence.

Please take note to request for housing in time. The deadlines for sending in the accommodation form are 15th of June for the Fall Semester, and the 17th December for the Spring Semester.
