The BEES programme is aimed at students interested in teaching their subject (e.g. Biology, History or Mathematics) in English. It helps them prepare for teaching jobs at secondary schools which have a bilingual department.
The programme offers an international perspective towards education and the role of teachers in a globalising society. Apart from English, attention will be paid to global citizenship, international projects and how to organize them.
The programme will be taught in an ‘international classroom’ and students will be able to integrate their own subject courses.
Trainee teachers will be placed at either an international school or schools with a bilingual department. As part of their work placement students will be coached in developing their professional skills.
